Damage recording is digital; the calculation is prepared by our vehicle experts.

Questions about outsourced damage calculation

Do we need our own SilverDAT licence or software?
No. Damage recording runs directly in the browser and on the smartphone. The calculation is prepared by our vehicle experts with SilverDAT – you receive the result as a PDF. You save the ongoing licence costs and the training effort for a complex calculation program.
What is the data basis for the calculation?
Calculations are made with SilverDAT based on manufacturer-compliant repair data: the vehicle is usually identified precisely via its VIN, labour times and related operations are calculated automatically. The vehicle data covers virtually all common makes and models.
How much does a calculation cost?
The price depends on the damage amount: from CHF 50.– (damage below CHF 2,000) to CHF 250.– (damage above CHF 50,000), each excl. VAT. The full price table is above on this page. Your first calculation is free (introductory offer).
How is it billed?
ClaimTec is used on a per-order basis: you pay per calculation, without fixed basic costs. Regular users automatically receive a loyalty discount of up to 20 % (tiered by the number of orders in the last 12 months).
When do we receive the invoice?
You decide when: as soon as our experts have completed your calculation, it is available in the portal. You request the invoice separately, whenever it suits you – for example after the repair. No earlier than 14 days after the calculation, we send you a reminder by email; you can then keep the claim open up to three times for another 14 days. Without a reply within 14 days, the invoice is issued automatically. Once requested, you receive the invoice promptly as a PDF in the portal.
Which damage amount determines the price?
The deciding figure is the repair cost excl. VAT according to the completed SilverDAT calculation. Any supplement is prepared as a separate calculation containing the additional items; the deciding figure is then the total of the original calculation and the supplement – nothing is counted twice. The price is a flat rate: no surcharges for travel, evaluations or value calculations.
What happens if further damage becomes visible during disassembly?
You report the additional damage with photos in the portal on the existing claim; our expert supplements the calculation. There is no separate price for a supplement: as long as the invoice has not yet been issued, the price is based on the total of all calculations for the claim – so a higher price tier may apply. If the invoice has already been issued, the supplement is free of charge.
Are our own hourly rates taken into account?
Yes. You enter your hourly rates for body repair, painting and paintless dent repair (CHF per hour, excl. VAT) in the portal under “Edit company details”. They are automatically applied to the calculation for every new order; changes apply to new orders.
Can we upload existing damage photos?
Yes. Photos can be taken directly with the smartphone or uploaded as existing files – the guided damage recording shows which shots are required.
When is ClaimTec worthwhile for our business?
Whenever internal capacity is lacking or additional support is needed – for example at peak times or during staff absences. ClaimTec is used as needed, per order. The cost calculator shows you with your own figures whether it also pays off financially.
How does the cost calculator work out the savings?
The calculator compares the annual cost of calculating in-house – software licence (e.g. SilverDAT, Audatex or Eurotax), working time per calculation plus software upkeep and know-how, valued at what one working hour is worth to your business – with the cost of ClaimTec: price per calculation based on the damage amount, minus the loyalty discount, plus your data-entry time. The calculation runs only in your browser; no data is transmitted.
Can several employees use ClaimTec?
Yes. Whoever sets up your business in the portal can add colleagues with their email address under “Colleagues”. Everyone then sees your business’s orders.
